Sherri M. Anderson, Program Chair, founder of The Law Offices of Sherri M. Anderson PLLC, focuses her practice on the representation of clients in family law matters which involve complex financial, jurisdictional and/or parenting issues. Prior to founding her own firm in 2002, she was a partner at Preston Gates & Ellis LLP in Seattle. She has lectured on numerous ethics and family law topics and has been recognized by Washington Law & Politics magazine as a “Super Lawyer”.
Michael W. Bugni, founder of The Law Offices of Michael W. Bugni & Associates PLLC, has practiced exclusively in family law at the same Northgate area office in Seattle since 1983. He serves as a mediator in family law matters on both a professional and volunteer basis and in a variety of legal venues. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
Hon. Terrance A. Carroll (retired) served on the King County Superior Court for twelve years. He has mediated or arbitrated over 3,000 cases, including several hundred family law matters. He has lectured at many CLE forums and seminars, is a founder of Judicial Dispute Resolution in Seattle, and has served as chair of the Public Facilities District which oversees Safeco Field.
Mabry C. DeBuys is a partner at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Preston Gates Ellis LLP, where she maintains a practice in family law with an emphasis in complex financial issues. She is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. She was named a “Super Lawyer” by Washington Law & Politics magazine, one of the top 50 Washington women lawyers, and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America.
Ruth Laura Edlund is a partner with Wechsler Becker LLP. Her practice emphasizes complex dissolutions, non-marital breakups, and the de-escalation of high conflict cases. She previously spent five years as managing attorney for the Family Law Program of the King County Bar Association, where she recruited and trained volunteer attorneys to represent low income clients in parenting plan disputes.
Wendy S. Goffe, a shareholder with Graham Dunn PC, focuses her practice on estate planning, estate and gift taxation, probate and trust administration, family-owned business succession planning, charitable giving, and non-profit trusts and corporations. She has been named a “Super Lawyer” by Washington Law & Politics magazine.
Nancy Hawkins is a sole practitioner in Seattle, concentrating in the area of family law. She is the former chair of the King County Bar Association Family Law Section and a frequent speaker at legal seminars on family law issues, particularly those involving unmarried couples. She is a chapter author of the Washington State Bar Association’s Family Law Deskbook.
Patricia S. Novotny is a private practice attorney focusing on
appellate law and emphasizing family law. She also teaches
Women and Law at the University of Washington in the Women
Studies Department and a course on gender, sex, and sexuality
at the university’s law school. She is a long-time volunteer attorney
with the Northwest Women’s Law Center and has been involved
in numerous cases asserting the rights of women in contexts
including reproductive rights.
Lynn C. Pollock is a partner with Bartlett Pollock & Besk PLLC, specializing in mediation and arbitration of family law issues. She formerly chaired the King County Bar Association Family Law Section and served on the Washington State Family Law Executive Committee. She frequently served as protem Family Law Commissioner and Judge protem before limiting her practice to alternative dispute resolution.
